DNAP 725 : Healthcare Policy, Economics & Legal Issues
This course builds upon foundational knowledge of healthcare systems and information management to examine healthcare policy, economics, legal considerations, advocacy, and leadership within nurse anesthesia practice. Students evaluate healthcare financing, reimbursement systems, regulatory structures, organizational governance, and public policy processes that influence healthcare delivery. Emphasis is placed on developing leadership competencies, policy analysis skills, and advocacy strategies necessary to improve patient outcomes, influence healthcare systems, and advance the nurse anesthesia profession at the local, state, and national levels. Students apply business and leadership principles to contemporary healthcare challenges and develop strategies for engaging stakeholders, policymakers, and professional organizations.
