DNAP 735 : Population Wellness & Health Promotion (Epidemiology)
This course expands the doctoral student's understanding of population health, epidemiology, and healthcare outcomes. Students apply epidemiologic principles to evaluate patterns of disease, outbreak investigations, health determinants, screening methods, surveillance systems, and population-based health outcomes. Emphasis is placed on interpreting epidemiological evidence, evaluating risk factors, and applying population health concepts to improve healthcare quality, patient outcomes, and healthcare system performance. Students examine public health emergencies, emerging infectious diseases, environmental health threats, and healthcare-associated outbreaks to evaluate the role of epidemiologic data in guiding evidence-based clinical, organizational, and policy decisions.
